Spartina bakeri - Sand Cordgrass
Showy bunch grass, Native to Southeastern US. Grows to 36" tall in mass plantings, taller if single. Likes moist conditions.
Muhlenbergia capillaris - Pink Muhly Grass
Also known as Gulf Muhly, it has an attractive pink plumage during late summer and early autumn. Fairly salt tolerant. Growns to 30" tall. Likes moderate - dry conditions.
Tripsacum dactyloides - Fakahatchee Grass
A variety of tall bunch grass that is found throughout the Eastern U.S. from Florida to the Canadian border. Broad leaves and upright growth habit. Grows to 5 ft. tall.
Tripscaum floridanum - Dwarf Fakahatchee Grass
A smaller version of fakahatchee grass, grows in peninsular Florida, from Daytona Beach, Gainesville, Cedar Key southward. Grows 1-2 feet tall.
Eragrostis spectabilis - Purple Lovegrass
This growing bunch grass prefers dry conditions. It grows to 12 inches and has a pink mist of flowers in the fall. Occurs throughout the Eastern U.S.
Eragrostis elliottii - Silver Lovegrass
Another short bunch grass for dry areas. Silver leaves and white flowers give this grass a misty look in the fall. Native to the southeastern U.S.
Spartina patens - Saltmeadow Cordgrass
This is a spreading species, grows 12– 8 inches in dry conditions but can reach 36-42 inches when subjected to standing water for extended periods.

Pontederia cordata - Pickerelweed
An emergent aquatic plant that is found throughout the Eastern US. It grows 12"- 24" tall and grows in 6" - 18" of water. It has showy purple flowers.
Canna flaccida - Yellow Canna
This is the native Canna of the southeast. It grows along the water's edge and reaches 2-3 ft. with large, showy, yellow flowers.
Sagitaria lancifolia - Arrowhead or Duck Potato
This Emergent aquatic plant grows in 0-12 inches of water and reaches 36 inches with spikes of white individual flowers. Occurs from Canada to Texas, and east to Florida.
Eleocharis cellulosa - Spikerush
This aquatic plant occurs throughout the southeast and forms dense beds along shallow littoral areas, protruding 6-12 inches above the water surface.
Thalia geniculata - Fire Flag
Fire flag is a large emergant aquatic plant that grows to 8 ft. tall in Florida and the southeast. It has large showy leaves, small purple flowers and can grow in 2-3 ft. of water.
Iris hexagona - Blue Flag Iris
A native Iris to Florida and parts of the southeast, the leaves are 12-18 inches tall and have showy blue flowers with yellow highlights. Grows along waters edge.
Juncus effusus - Soft Rush
This aquatic rush grows at the water's edge and is dark green during the winter. It grows 24-36 inches tall and occurs throughout the U.S.
Scirpus californicus - Bulrush
A tall freshwater rush with showy seed heads in the summer and fall; 6 ft. tall, grows in 1-3 ft. of water.

Gaillardia pulchella - Blanket Flower
Another attractive flower of the coastal dunes. Thrives in dry, well drained soils. An annual, which re-seeds itself each year. Has showy red and yellow flowers. Native to Southeastern US. Grows 12"-24" tall.
Helianthus debilis - Dune Sunflower
Another attractive flower found in ocean dunes and coastal areas throughout the warmer areas of the southeast. This rambling bush spreads from each rooted stalk.

Paspalum quadrifarium - Crown Grass
Native to Uruguay, the leaves are broad under irrigation and rolled up when dry. Maintains a dark green color all year. Grows 24"-36" tall. FNGLA Plant of the Year 2003.
Pennisetum setaceum - White Fountain Grass
A southern ornamental bunch grass – white fountain grass grows 18-24 inches tall with attractive plumes. Blooms 6-9 months each year. Naturalized throughout the southeast and Caribbean.
